Hidden keys in Tidy Up the Arcane Library

Four keys upgrade movement and inventory. Use this visit order so you never stare at a high vase before Jump is ready.

Why order matters

The Crimson Octagon key sits in plain sight but unlocks Jump—which you need before peeking into the stair vase for the Golden Diamond key. The Azure Star key waits upstairs, so plan a stair trip after you can sprint or at least traverse quickly. Finally, dig out the Emerald Club key from the bench pile near the scale to unlock Sprint for every future lap.

Each pickup permanently upgrades your librarian: Jump makes vertical hops forgiving, Sprint tightens long hall hauls, and the golden plus azure combo stacks extra slots so Assemble and Auto Shelving feel dramatically smoother.

Step 1 · First priority

🔴 Crimson Octagon Key

Right under the entrance emblem—you can spot it as soon as you step inside.

Unlocks: Jump ability

Step 2 · Second priority

🟡 Golden Diamond Key

Inside the decorative vase on the stair banister (near the crimson chest). Jump up and look inside the vase.

Unlocks: Carry capacity +3

Step 3 · Third priority

⭐ Azure Star Key

On the second floor, toward the far side of the room. Check the upper area of the back shelves.

Unlocks: Carry capacity +2

Step 4 · Fourth priority

🟢 Emerald Club Key

On a bench by the scale on the first floor, partly hidden under a pile of books—move the pile to reveal it.

Unlocks: Sprint ability

Staying oriented while you hunt

Keys are easy to walk past when you are juggling armfuls of books. Pause near the staircase maps for a breath, mark mentally which wing you last cleared, and sweep the immediate landing zone before you leap for the vase. Jump removes the frustration of guessing whether a key is “above” you or simply behind a ledge—so grab crimson first every time, even if another collectible looks tempting.

Sprint from the emerald key changes how aggressively you can ferry mis-sorted books back to the center table. Combine it with quick R checks so you never sprint halfway across the hall holding the wrong series. If you play with controller or Steam Deck, the same order still applies—just map interact and detail buttons somewhere comfortable because you will press them hundreds of times.

After the keys

Once movement feels good, loop back to the beginner guide checklist or dive straight into efficiency tips to learn how magical abilities interact with your new carry size. Achievement hunters should peek at the achievement page for requirements like Anti-Magic Master that intentionally skip the shortcuts magic provides.
